Yes — completely. No account, no watermark, no scan limits, and commercial use is fine. The generator runs entirely in your browser, so there's nothing to charge you for.

Do the QR codes expire?

No. These are static QR codes: your content is encoded directly into the pattern itself, with no redirect service in between. A printed code keeps working forever — as long as whatever it points to (like your website) stays online.

Can I make a QR code for a PDF?

Accepted Answer

Yes — use the PDF type. A QR code can't contain a file, so your PDF needs to live online first: upload it to Google Drive or Dropbox with sharing set to 'Anyone with the link' (or put it on your own website), then paste the link. QRStudio cleans Drive and Dropbox share links so the PDF opens directly when scanned. The code keeps working as long as the file stays online at that address.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. The code is generated locally in your browser. Nothing you type — URLs, Wi-Fi passwords, contact details — ever leaves your device, and we run no analytics or tracking.

Which format should I download?

Accepted Answer

PNG works everywhere and is perfect for screens, documents, and most printing. Choose SVG for professional printing or design tools — it's a vector file that stays razor-sharp at any size. JPEG and WebP are handy when you need smaller files.

Why won't my QR code scan?

Accepted Answer

The usual culprits: too little contrast between code and background, inverted colors (light code on dark), printing too small (keep it at least 2×2 cm), or a logo covering too much of the pattern. The scan check under the preview flags these — and when in doubt, use High error correction and test with your phone before printing.

Can I put my logo in the middle?

Yes — upload any image in the Logo section and it's drawn into the center of the code. QR codes tolerate up to ~30% damage at High error correction, which QRStudio sets automatically when you add a logo. Keep the logo under about 40% of the code's width.
